NOTE: DUE TO SPACE CONSTRAINTS THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED VENUE AND TIME
Seat reservations have now closed as even the new venue is at full capacity. You can join the waiting list here.
We’re delighted to be hosting our first student and faculty reading since the pandemic. We’ll be gathering on Sunday 23 April 2023, 16:00 to 17:30 at Perdu, Kloveniersburgwal 86, Amsterdam (map).
Come hear a rousing selection of writing. Stay afterward for drinks, bites, and literary camaraderie. Doors (and the bar) opens at 15:30.
The featured student pieces, as chosen by Lisa Schantl, editor-in-chief of the international literary magazine Tint Journal, are:
Cheese Samosa by Hader Morsy
Stingray by Nan Damhuis
The Swim by Mona Dahir
The Unraveling by Liz Dabulskis
The Wedding by Alexandra Gowling
In the moment by Rob Huddlestone Phillips
untitled poem by Inge Lisenka Wallage
Our faculty reader this time around will be Karen Kao.
Lisa said of her selection: “The stories and poems that I have chosen are the ones that set me on fire. I applaud the winners, and the alternates, for all the magic they were able to create in such confined spaces. But I also want to applaud those who did not make it onto the winner’s list. The quality of the submissions was very high throughout, the grasp of the creative pen could be felt in every single text. Keep going and let your creative voice carry you.”
We welcome all students (former, current, and prospective) and friends to attend this reading, cheer on the writers, and revel in this moment of community.
