Bio | Laura Wetherington’s first book, A Map Predetermined and Chance (Fence Books 2011), was selected by C.S. Giscombe for the National Poetry Series. Her second book, Parallel Resting Places, was awarded the 2020 New Measure Prize by Peter Gizzi and came out in January 2021 from Free Verse Editions. She has published three chapbooks: Dick Erasures (Red Ceilings Press 2011), the collaboratively written at the intersection of 3 (Dancing Girl Press 2014), and Grief Is the Only Thing That Flies (Bateau Press 2018). Her poems have appeared in the Narrative, Colorado Review, Poem-A-Day, and The Normal School, among others. She’s a feature writer for the University of Arizona Poetry Center, a reviewer at Full Stop, and the poetry editor at Baobab Press. Laura also teaches in Sierra Nevada University’s low-residency MFA program. She holds an MFA from the University of Michigan. What Laura's students say+
