Join us for an evening of inspiration and fun. Learn how your favourite authors work their magic, receive an exercise to begin a story or a poem, and meet great people. This class is from 18:30 to 20:30 at Boekhandel van Rossum, Beethovenstraat 32, 1077 JH Amsterdam.

Instruction is free but there’s a small fee of €5* to cover the cost of handouts, drinks and snacks and so that we get an accurate idea of how many handouts, snacks and teachers we need. We have had waiting lists in the past, so to make sure you get a spot, don’t wait to register.

We’ll kick off the evening with a short talk on the secrets of becoming a great writer. Then we’ll break into small groups (8-12 people) where we’ll look at some techniques you can start using immediately to give greater power to your stories, poems or memoir. You’ll also get to do a little bit of writing and, if you’re so inclined, some critiquing. (Your choice whether or not you want to share your work in the group.)

Afterwards, we’ll have wine, beer and snacks in the garden, assuming the weather cooperates. We hope you can stay and mingle.

*If you have to cancel and let us know at least 24 hours before the class, we’ll give you a credit you can apply to our next trial class, write-together or a workshop.
