Pretty much everyone is nervous about reading their writing in public. But it’s an important part of what writers do to promote their work. Even if you aren’t interested in becoming a professional author, public readings are a wonderful way to share your voice. We host readings for our writers two or three times per year and in Amsterdam alone you’ll find around half a dozen open mic nights per month.
In this workshop you’ll learn how to:
- overcome your fears and limiting beliefs through a series of fun interactive exercises
- animate the words on the page and connect to your audience
Not only will you learn to be more comfortable sharing your personal work in front of an audience, you’ll have fun too! And this workshop will help you become a more confident speaker and presenter.
To participate all you need to bring is a double-spaced page from a story or essay or a short poem (ideally your own work :)) and a willingness to play.
This workshop is taught by Cené Hale. You may have seen Cené on stage at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. As an actor, comedian and improv artist, Cené has performed in over 1000 live shows, as well as multiple commercials and short films. She’s given workshops on public speaking, teamwork, collaboration and adaptability for over 60 different companies, from local family owned businesses to fortune 500 companies, across Europe and the US. Cené normally charges €1000 for her corporate workshops so this is an incredible bargain!
