This Level IV creative writing workshop runs from 14 January – 24 March with a hiatus on 18 February. The class meets on Tuesdays from 18:30 to around 21:00 (depending on class size) at Sarphatistraat 213, 1018 GJ Amsterdam.
The Level IV workshop is designed to support writers in completing independent projects: story collections, poetry chapbooks or novels. During the term, you’ll have five opportunities to submit work for critique (up to 3000 words per submission, due the Saturday before class) and will receive written feedback as well as benefiting from the in-class discussion of your work. You’ll also have access to our exercise library.
Based on your availability and what you’re working on, you will be placed in one of two blocks to determine the dates your work will be critiqued. Block 1 meets on 14 & 28 January, 11 February, 3 & 17 March. Block 2 meets on 21 January, 4 & 25 February, 10 & 24 March. Class size is 4 – 5 students per block. You have the option to attend all 10 classes.
At the end of each course, your instructor will provide individual recommendations on how to move forward, including publishing suggestions.
This course is open to writers who have completed Level III and by permission of the instructor. If you’re new to this workshop, please contact us before registering.
OUR REFUND POLICY:
If something comes up and you can’t take the course, let us know at least 24 hours before the first class (so we can offer your spot to someone else) and we’ll give you a complete refund. If you decide to drop out after the first class, let us know within three days, and you only pay for the first class—we’ll refund the rest. And if at any point in the term something unforeseeable happens that makes it impossible for you to complete the course (e.g., serious illness), we can offer you a credit voucher based on the number of classes remaining that you can apply to another course within a year.
