Sussu Laaksonen

Sussu started writing speeches that she gave to her grandfather’s chickens in rural Finland at age five and hasn’t stopped since. She graduated with a MA in screenwriting from the film school at Aalto University in Helsinki and has credits in Finnish TV, film, theater and performance art. Her short screenplay Cataract won the Berlinale Talent Campus. Sussu spent 15 years in California where she worked for Google and Netflix. Sussu now lives in Amsterdam with her partner and cat. As well as teaching, she writes and consults for film and television. She's been with the Collective since 2019 and is currently working on some prose projects, including a collection of essays.
