Sarah is the director of the International Writers’ Collective and teaches intermediate and advanced classes. She was a teacher with the Writers Studio NYC from 2011-2017 and also served as director of the Amsterdam branch.
For her (part-time) day job, she consults with international (mainly nonprofit) research organisations to communicate their findings to policy makers and other stakeholders via print, social media and online. She is formerly a visiting professor in science communication at IE University in Madrid and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English Literature from Stanford University.
Drawing inspiration from her southern US roots as well as her experiences traveling and living abroad, Sarah is always mid-draft on multiple short stories and, as many teachers in our Collective, is also working on her first novel.
Sarah is a brilliant teacher. She is an amazing listener. Maybe the most insightful reader I’ve ever met. She is incredibly empathetic, yet tough and trenchant with her criticism when she needs to be.

I love that fact that Sarah is open to all genres, all kinds of writing. She does not hold back on giving honest feedback, yet she encourages too, points out what works.

It is Sarah's feedback which has helped me the most in reaching a point at which I am working on a novel, at last.
